During the period (12-14/7/2010), the Career Center organizes a series of training courses in the Faculty of Civil Engineering under the name of : " Getting acquainted with Work Environment in the Companies".
The topics of the courses focused on the ways of motivation to develop the personal skills. In addition to that many important recommendations were offered to the students such as: How to apply for a job, Job interview, the demands of the first stage of work and how to adapt to the new work environment.
These courses were interactive. Practical training was carried out through imagined job interviews where the students were given  important instructions in this field.
The trainers were: Majd Bashour, Head of Development Dept. in Syriatel Co. and Hanan Jamous from Syriatel Co.
The two trainers expressed their satisfaction with holding these courses and the huge interest and interaction were shown by participating students.
They also expressed their wish to continue the cooperation with Damascus University in such kind of activities and stressed the importance of giving more students the opportunity to get benefits from these courses.
During the courses the trainers get acquainted with group of students and they agreed to stay in touch in order to join them to the staff members of Syriatel Com.
The nearly 80 students highlighted the importance of the information obtained in these courses, especially the necessary skills needed in the work environment and the experience to handle the work demands.
On Thursday 15/7/2010 Career Center organizes also a training course in the field of communication technology  attended by 25 students most of them form the following specialties: Electronics and Communications from the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Networks and Information Systems from the Faculty of information Technology.
The course was taught by Mr. Ala'addin Azmeh from Syriatel Com.
Mr. Azmeh spoke about the work systems used in communication networks , their generations,  the speed of these systems and GSM system and the used towers.
The participants in this course expressed their satisfaction with benefits obtained and their wish to continue this cooperation between the companies and students. The student Shaza Kholi  from Faculty of Information Technology spoke about the importance of offering practical training for the students in the companies. Another student Ammar smmak from Electronics and Communication Dept. Expressed his wish to make field visit to communication networks.
