Prof. Wael Mualla, President of Damascus University, met on Nov 11th with Mr. Christian Grelois vice-president of Bordeaux University, France. Prof Mualla discussed with DU guest and accompanying delegation means of developing academic cooperation between the two institutions. Attending the meeting was Mr. Jean-Louis Laveille, Academic Cooperation Attaché at the Embassy of France in Damascus.
The two sides overviewed ways to enhance their joint M.A. program in Banking and Financing, particularly with regards to furnishing all the needed infrastructure that would re-launch the program and make it more successful and sustainable. It was agree that instruction in this program will continue to be in both French and English. Mr. Laveille expressed the readiness of the Embassy of France to provide intensive French language courses for students enrolled in this program.
Also at the table were discussions regarding launching new joint programs in various disciplines including international relations.
