On Oct. 10th 2010, Dr. Philippe Seib from the University of Southern California, in the United States, presented a lecture at the Faculty of Art on regional cross border journalism. The lecture focused on how broadcast journalists can effectively and inexpensively reach the largest possible number of viewers across the globe. He focused especially on the importance of Arabic and English speaking audiences, since they are considered the number one target of broadcast journalism. Dr. Seib has visited Damascus University in the past, whereby he presented a lecture on diplomatic relations and the media.
