On April 27th, the annual conference for the University Children's Hospital kicked off at the external clinics lecture hall within the hospital. In attendance were physicians for Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Britain. President of Damascus University, Dr. Wael Mualla pointed out that the conference covered different topics related to the curing and study of pediatric diseases, drawing from the backgrounds of various researchers, participants, and the scientific establishments that they belong to. He stressed that this kind of conferences is a vital part of the struggle to realize development goals by ensuring the spread of knowledge, exchanges of information and experiences, benefiting from advanced studies, and adopting the latest innovations from all scientific fields. Over a three day period, the conference will discuss advances in pediatric medicine, especially concerning muscular diseases, urinary infections, surgical procedures, cardiological birth defects, jaundice, meningitis, the role of vaccinations and their effects, and youth tumors. Additionally, it covered the latest research and studies on pediatric diseases on the local and international level.The opening of the conference was marked by the honoring of several teachers and doctors who played a supporting role in the work of the hospital. In parallel with the conference, 25 Syrian companies participated in a food and drug exhibition.
